Browser-Correct Download Instructions

Will Bontrager May 24, 2006
Download instructions are almost always given specifically for the IE browser on the Windows operating systems. This script will detect the user's browser and give the correct download instructions. Covers IE, Firefox, Netscape, Opera, and Macintosh. (The example below shows the proper instructions for your browser.)

The JavaScript Source: Miscellaneous : Browser-Correct Download Instructions

Simply click inside the window below, use your cursor to highlight the script, and copy [Control]+C the script into a new file in your text editor (such as Note Pad) and save [Control+S]. The script is yours!!!

When I open MSN I get a message: JavaScript application (at the top of the box). Message: Type Error: text is undefined. There is a yellow triangle to the left of the message with an exclamation mark. How do I remedy this notice??
